The Camden Town Group is generally associated with subjects drawn from everyday life in London. However, a large proportion of paintings by members of the group shown in their three exhibitions at the Carfax Gallery were of landscapes and rural scenes or else of glimpses of nature seen in the city.
Essays in this section explore the relations between city and country in England in the early years of the twentieth century.
