This was a right-hand page from the sketchbook, and has been irregularly cut on the right side. Turner made this sketch from the Thames, looking towards Henley by Temple Island, with the temple designed by James Wyatt (1771) as an eye-catcher for Fawley Court on the left, very lightly indicated among trees. The view looks up-river with St Nicholas, Remenham in the left distance and Henley itself to the right, with St Mary’s.
