Join us at The Corner for an unforgettable celebration as Verdant Brewery marks 10 incredible years of brewing in Cornwall

We're thrilled to have the iconic Verdant brewery joining us at Tate Modern for a birthday knees up. The Verdant ethos revolves around brewing flavour-packed beers so expect a line-up of super fresh beers on tap, including some exclusive birthday brews and an amazing DJ set by Mr Bongo

For one day only, The Corner will also be host to a mini seafood menu specially curated by Verdant's Seafood Bar giving you the chance to sample some of their most iconic dishes including a guest pizza from their taproom cooked in our wood oven pizza terrace.

Mr Bongo

DJ performing

Mr Bongo started life in 1989 as a small record shop in London and Tokyo, and their record label grew naturally from those endeavours. They were the first shop to sell vinyl releases from independent hip hop labels such as Def Jam, Rawkus, Nervous and Big Beat outside of the USA. The record shop also became an established bearer for hard-to-find classic Latin music, particularly Brazilian. The team wanted to release the best Brazilian music they could find, and the Mr Bongo record label became the vehicle for that.

In 2004 they moved into world cinema, a venture that has grown to complement the music. In keeping with the record label philosophy, they carefully select and source films from around the world and their catalogue now includes works by esteemed directors including Scorsese, Coppola, Has, Bertolucci, Rocha and Dovzhenko amongst others.

Verdant Brewing Co have had the pleasure of working with Mr Bongo for the last 6 years, after meeting the team at an event in the Brighton Beer Dispensary back in 2018. Together, they released 2 collaborative beers in support of Luke Una's mixtapes: "É-Soul Cultura" and "'É-Soul Cultura, una dos, vol 2."

All Tate Modern entrances are step-free. You can enter via the Turbine Hall and into the Natalie Bell Building on Holland Street, or into the Blavatnik Building on Sumner Street.

There are lifts to every floor of the Blavatnik and Natalie Bell buildings. Alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Fully accessible toilets are located on every floor on the concourses.
  • A quiet room is available to use in the Natalie Bell Building on Level 4.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the Ticket desks.
