In this tour of works from the Tate Collection, writer Juliet Jacques looks at depictions of femininity in the paintings of Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones, and asks how they fit into late Victorian discourses about gender and sexuality. She will then look at how those discourses have evolved and changed, through a study of several works by 20th century artists.
