Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Orienting the sketchbook vertically, Turner produced this cursory study of four or five figures, with details of their headwear just visible. The obscure form towards the top of the page is difficult to interpret, and the inscriptions are similarly illegible.
