Turning the sketchbook horizontally, Turner produced this rough outline of an unidentified town, with a partly cropped building to the right, possibly a church. At the bottom of the page, extending across the gutter from folio 7 recto opposite (D21676), appears to be a detail of the arched windows separated by a column. A road or river curves into the distance and hilltop buildings are visible on the horizon. The loose outlines to the left are difficult to identify.
