With the sketchbook turned vertically, Turner outlined a distant building in the upper margin, with a multi-arched bridge to the right. The circles and other geometrical markings in the top-right corner are difficult to decipher, but are likely architectural. Beneath is a topographical outline of what appears to be a river or reservoir, likely located along the Tiber. The body of water outlined on folio 9 recto opposite (D21847) appears to be the same location.
