This page shows a turbulent scene with dark grey storm clouds breaking above what appears to be the sea. Thick diagonal brushstrokes suggest sheets of rain buffeted by a fierce wind. The jagged brushstrokes in the lower half of the composition suggest the combined chaos of crashing waves and falling rain. In this respect, the sketch is comparable to the rectos of folios 23, 24, and 31 (D12471, D12472, D12479).
