The page is divided into a series of four sketches in chalk and pencil, the largest one with landscape orientation in relation to the sheet, the other three with portrait. Each has a strong horizontal line or series of marks representing a horizon with diagonal lines radiating from it. One of the sketches includes a circle indicating the rising or setting of the sun, likely the subject of all four images.
