At the centre of this lively sketch is a stone bridge with three arches, connecting two sides of a town separated by a river. Rows of trees run along the banks of this river. Among the tall buildings to the left is a clock tower. More buildings are situated to the right, including a tower with a tented roof suggesting a church’s spire. Three hills loom in the distance.
