The drawing continues across folio 4 verso opposite (D14495). Finberg subsequently annotated his 1909 Inventory entry (‘View from Riva degli Schiavone’) to read: ‘Schiavoni’.1 In another copy he did the same and added: ‘S. Giorgio Sal & Dog. Mola. [sic] Camp. & Doge’s Pal.’2 The Turner scholar C.F. Bell wrote in another copy: ‘San Giorgio l. Hotel Danieli r.’3
This is a less detailed reprise of the view on folios 3 verso–4 recto (D14493–D14494), looking east along the Riva degli Schiavoni, this time focusing on shipping in the foreground. Beyond towards the left on this page are the columns at the entrance to the Piazzetta on the Molo. The only other structure shown in any detail is the Ponte del Vin in the right foreground.
