Inverted in relation to the sketchbook as foliated, the faint pencil sketch on this page depicts Dieppe Castle. Turner commenced his 1826 tour of France at Dieppe.1 Along the bottom of the page, inverted in relation to the sketches above, are various notes by Turner’s executors. In ink Henry Scott Trimmer signed and inscribed the page with the note ‘No 202 This book contains 15 [sic] leaves – Pencil | Sketches some on both sides – | [signed] H.S. Trimmer’. Charles Turner signed his name in ink, and Charles Lock Eastlake and John Prescott Knight
