Turner filled this page with multiple studies of buildings and settlements in coastal terrain. A pencil note towards the top right-hand corner of the page locates these landscapes to the vicinity of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer. The artist filled several pages of the present volume with studies of this stretch of the Normandy coast, a list of which is included in the sketchbook introduction.
