Turner filled this page with studies of the riverside terrain of the Loire valley, some twenty miles upstream of Nantes. Notes by the artist indicate that the drawings in the top half of the page were taken around the settlement of St-Géréon and those in the bottom half, inverted in relation to those above, around the neighbouring settlement of Ancenis. There are several pages of studies of Ancenis in this volume. A list of these is provided in the sketchbook introduction.
