Turner filled this page with views of the terrain around the River Morlaix in Brittany. Tate curator Ian Warrell has identified amongst these views the Monastery of Saint-François-de-Cumbrien, a little to the north of the town of Morlaix.1 Drawings of this landscape feature on multiple pages in this part of the volume, a list of which is included in the sketchbook introduction.
