The subject is Genoa’s harbour,1 with its distinctive two-stage lighthouse; for other views see under Tate D33718 (Turner Bequest CCCXLI 39). There is a related drawing on the verso (D33813; Turner Bequest CCCXLI 130v), and Finberg recognised a link to Tate D33800 (Turner Bequest CCCXLI 118v).2
