With summary handling, here Turner has rendered a series of sketches of Arundel Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes of Norfolk. At centre right is the Castle’s Banqueting Room, with its the twenty-foot stained glass window suggested in cursory detail. The window depicts the meeting of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon, and was designed by William Hamilton R.A. and produced by the artisan glass-painter Francis Eginton.1
