With the sketchbook oriented horizontally, here Turner has pictured Lowestoft lighthouse at top right (see Tate D18225–D18227; CCIX 35a–36a). The artist has also rendered a cursory view across the page, most likely showing the coast between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. The profiles of a windmill and boat masts can be seen.
With the sketchbook orientated to portrait, Turner has dashed off a sketch of Orfordness lighthouse with Orford Haven and its Castle in the distance.
