With the sketchbook turned upside down relative to the foliation this rather indecipherable light pencil sketch could resemble details from a vessel of some sort, perhaps rigging apparatus and the outline of masts. Given that this jotting is left conspicuously undeveloped this is clearly an instance of Turner starting to sketch a feature which interested him only to abandon it shortly after.
