The Roman aqueduct at the commune of Arcueil just to the south of Paris is seen in these two sketches from street level.1 The bottom sketch depicts a house built beneath one of the arches. There are more distant sketches of the aqueduct on folios 12 and 13 verso (Tate D24522, D24525; Turner Bequest CCLVIII 12, 13a); see also the inside back cover (Tate D41261).
