This rather slight sky study is one of only three pages in which watercolour was used in this sketchbook. There is a study of a sunset on folio 3 (Tate D18529; Turner Bequest CCXI 3), and a nude on folio 28 verso (Tate D18568; Turner Bequest CCXI 28a).
