Photograph of Henry Moore working on the plaster for Reclining Figure 1951
This photograph, part of the Kenneth Clark collection held in the Tate Archive, shows Moore at work on the Reclining Figure 1951 (Tate T02270). It shows how Moore laboriously built up layers of plaster to create the figure’s limbs. The plaster was cast in bronze and displayed on London’s South Bank as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951.
