This page contains two landscape sketches of mountainous landscape. The draughtsmanship is very rough and the locations are currently unidentified although they perhaps relate to Turner’s passage through the Alps via the Mont Cenis pass, see folio 2 verso (D16643). The upper vista depicts a road winding its way towards a distant building, and the lower prospect includes a castle or town visible in the middle distance on the left-hand side.
