Turner Bequest CXX R, CXX U
Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
These are the only identified working drawings for Sandycombe Lodge, Turner’s self-designed house at Twickenham, surviving as separate sheets (D40285 being the verso of D08235). In the present catalogue they are included as a subgroup within the section dealing with Sandycombe, which otherwise comprises the Windmill and Lock and Sandycombe and Yorkshire sketchbooks (Tate; Turner Bequest CXIV, CXXVII), as discussed in the overall introduction.
