This is the verso of Tate D06851; Turner Bequest CIII 21, to which the inscription refers. It reads: ‘J.M.W. Turner as Sketch in the manner of the “Liber Studiorum” | CIII 21 Landscape with trees and Small bridge. Little classical temple in the distance | Out of Schedule 272’.
