Drawn in brown wash alone, this study of a boat on the Thames relates to views of Waterloo Bridge across folios 6 to 10 (D13820–D13824; CLXX 5–9). Although the bridge itself, and other London landmarks are not included, the gaff-rigged sailing boat may be the same as in folio 10, and the bottle oven and shot tower at the right are typical structures found on the south bank of the Thames around Waterloo and Southwark.
