Drawn with the sketchbook inverted, this study was originally continued to the left on a folio now torn out, of which only a stub remains, not numbered in the current foliation. This variegated sky study is followed by more skies, some with rainbows, folios 17 verso–21 (D10614–10621). All are presumably over Richmond.
