Drawn with the sketchbook inverted. For Bodiam Castle in this sketchbook, see notes to folio 7 verso (D10214; Turner Bequest CXXXVII 6a). As Finberg observed, this view is continued on folio 9 verso (D10218; Turner Bequest CXXXVII 8a). Turner’s patron John Fuller restored the Postern Tower after he bought the castle in 1829.
