On the right part of this leaf, drawn with the sketchbook inverted, is a slight continuation of the subject on folio 38 verso (D10402), for which see catalogue note. To the left, also inverted, is a separate and more detailed study of Otley with the church and bridge over the River Wharfe, bringing distant hints in D10402 into focus.
