Looking down at the rocky shoreline from the cliffs near Auldhame on the East Lothian coast, this sketch continues on folio 7 (D13596; CLXVII 7) where it shows Seacliff House. At the right of the present page are the headlands and cliffs of the coast to the south-east, with buildings at the hamlet of Scoughall in the distance. There is a similar view, though taken from a little further away at the bottom of the cliffs on folios 9 verso–10 (D13600–D13601; CLXVII 8c, 9), and the house is seen from beneath on folio 8 (D13597; CLXVII 8).
