A faint line stretching across the middle of the sheet suggests a horizon. To the left is a town, the most prominent building of which is a church with a steeple. Towards the bottom of the sheet, right of centre, the arch of a bridge suggests a river running along the bottom of a valley.
There is a sketch of an unrelated subject on the verso (D20340; CCXXIV 47v).
