Drawn from the banks of the Seine near Passy, this view east along the river looks towards Paris with the Pont de la Concorde, the Assemblée Nationale, the Tuileries Palace and the Louvre beyond.1 Turner’s interest in this sketch, however, is as much in the trees on the riverbank which he has shaded with dark pencil.
