This sketch records the view of Scarborough Harbour and Castle as seen from near the site of the present Weaponness Valley bridge, with a small bridge over the stream in the foreground, and beyond the harbour and lighthouse, with the castle keep above left. Turner notes part of a mill building to the left – possibly the same building as depicted in D11962; Turner Bequest CLI 10.
