This is the right half of a double-page spread, continued from folio 18 verso (D10902), opposite, taken from under an avenue of trees on the bank of the River Ouse at York. The avenue is almost certainly the Lord Mayor’s Walk, stretching south from the present Skeldergate Bridge, and the sketch is probably the continuation to the right of the river view on the immediately preceding double-page spread, folios 17 verso–18 (D10900–D10901).
