With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled this page with interior and exterior views of buildings of the Brittany town of Morlaix seen from the port. Amongst these, Tate curator Ian Warrell has identified the Churches of Saint-Matthew and Saint-Melaine.1 Morlaix features on multiple pages in this volume, a list of which is included in the sketchbook introduction.
