Stamped in black ‘LXXV 3a’ top left, descending vertically
Blind-stamped with the Turner Bequest monogram towards bottom right
Maurice Guillaud, in the 1981 Paris catalogue, identified this subject as Mont Blanc from near le Prarion, and Turner’s inscription as an abbreviation of ‘Bionassay’, which would indicate the lower slopes of the Aiguille de Bionnassay.
