This sketch records the view from the left bank of the River Ure, looking downstream to the bridge and church at Masham, beyond. The view is now completely lost to tree growth. The Yorkshire 1 sketchbook (Tate D10917–D10918, D10950; Turner Bequest CXLIV 26a–27, 45) contains other sketches of Masham made on the same visit.
