The marks of this sketch are very faded. However, a sailing boat is clearly discernible to the right with the outline of another behind it. In the middle of the page a raised flat structure suggests a jetty, upon which at least one figure is standing. To the landward side of the jetty a jagged diagonal line signals the river’s bank.

Technical notes:
This sketch appears on one half of a large sheet bisected by the faint line of a fold; this half measures 147 x 192mm. On the same sheet is D20549 (CCXXIV 233). The bottom right corner is discoloured red.
