This very slight sketch is probably related to others of fishing on the River Arun (east of Petworth) also from this sketchbook (D07513, D07514; Turner Bequest CIX 2, 3). The paper is discoloured. This must have been the first leaf or flyleaf of the sketchbook as it carries the Executors’ endorsement as well as what is probably Ruskin’s number.
