With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner lightly worked of the architecture of Nantes onto this page. The structure towards the top right-hand corner of the page has been identified as the gothic cathedral and neo-classical columned building at the centre as either the Théâtre Graslin or the Palais de la Bourse.1
