This sketch probably shows the three arches of Barden Bridge on the River Wharfe, with Barden Tower in the trees beyond to the south-west, although it is perhaps too slight to be certain. For other views of the tower, see under folio 15 verso (D09860; Turner Bequest CXXXIV 59a).
