The sum of money might be travel expenses for the tour to Cumbria during which Turner used this sketchbook, or be related to estimates or construction costs for his new house at Twickenham, Sandycombe Lodge, for which there are estimates on folio 13 (D07872) and inside the back cover (D07854). The other numbers and dates could be bank drafts or records of income or savings.
