Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
Turner oriented the sketchbook vertically to note down the brief inscriptions in the upper section of the page, which were first transcribed in Finberg’s 1909 Inventory of the Bequest.1 Possibly referring to dimensions or currency, they read:
