View of the Duveen Gallery showing works by Moore already in the Tate Gallery's collection at the time of the exhibition The Henry Moore Gift 1978
Between June and August 1978 the Tate Gallery held a large-scale exhibition of Henry Moore’s work to celebrate the artist’s eightieth birthday. The exhibition comprised three sections: a retrospective exhibition of Moore’s drawings; a display of the thirty-six sculptures included in the Henry Moore Gift; and in the Duveen Gallery, seen in this photograph, a display of Moore’s work owned by Tate prior to his gift.
