Most of the drawings in this sketchbook date from the first half of 1943. They include a drawing of a limestone quarry, and a number of studies for the cover of the May 1943 issue of 'Poetry London' and for the lithographs made for this issue. There is an overlap with Sketchbook 5, which contains a number of related drawings.
