Most of the drawings in this sketchbook are studies for standing forms or heads of 1952-1953; the others include two sketches for 'Cynocéphale I' 1952 and a landscape with trees. An early study for seated figure of Christ in the Coventry tapestry may have been offprinted from one of the sheets which are now missing.
