- Letter from Vanessa Bell, Charleston, East Sussex, to Duncan Grant. She describes shopping and painting with Roger Fry; Roger praises two Grant paintings, including 'The Baptism' (c. 1919), and challenges Mrs Brereton ('La B.'), who has written a roman à clef about life at Charleston. Bell reports that Faith Henderson has sacked her servant Flossie Selwood for getting pregnant. Also mentions Angelica and Julian Bell and Marie Moralt.
