- Letter from Vanessa Bell, Charleston, East Sussex, to Duncan Grant. She discusses life at Charleston : the unhappiness of the servants being in the country, in particular Angelica's nurse Nellie Brittain; gardening and pets; and generally feeling cooped up after her pregnancy. Also mentions the gardener Pitcher, the servants Jenny Pratt and Mabel Selwood, St John Hutchinson, Gerald and Fredegond Shove, and Leonard and Virginia Woolf, and thanks Grant for the gift of a drawing.
