- Title
- Letter from Vanessa Bell to Duncan Grant
- Date
- [11 March 1916]
- Description
- Letter from Vanessa Bell, 46 Gordon Square, Bloomsbury, to Duncan Grant, Wissett Lodge, Suffolk. Informs him that Lord Henry Cavendish Bentinck has purchased three of Grant's paintings via his sister Lady Ottoline Morrell. Queries what they should do about Wissett Lodge, in the light of uncertainty over what work Grant will be given as a conscientious objector. Works mentioned include Bell's 'Still life (Triple Alliance)', 1914, and (possibly) 'Flowers in the studio', 1915. Also mentions Mark Gertler, Roger Fry and Grant's mother.
