Description
Letter from Vanessa Bell, 46 Gordon Square, Bloomsbury, London, to Duncan Grant, written before dining with Roger Fry at Charlie and Dora Sanger's. She describes the latest group play-reading - John Ford's 'Lover's melancholy' - with Clive Bell and Mary Hutchinson, Fry, Oliver Strachey and Sydney Saxon-Turner, where the military tribunals of conscientious objectors James Strachey and Grant were discussed; Bell's move to Wissett Lodge with Grant and Bunny Garnett; and a gossipy tea with Virginia Woolf. Also mentions Margaret Llewelyn Davies and the Co-operative Women's Guild, John Maynard Keynes, Harry Norton, Margery Olivier, Sydney Waterlow, and Leonard Woolf.
